A few days back, it was reported that Germany’s coach Joachim Low will leave Germany after Euro 2020. Now the new reports suggest that Toni Kroos will follow Joachim Low’s decision to retire from international duties.
The report regarding Toni Kroos’s retirement was published in the German newspaper Bild. Toni Kroos has been a successful campaigner for the German side. In his 101 appearances for Germany, the midfielder has scored 17 goals and has been part of FIFA World Cup 2014 and UEFA Euro winning squad.
According to reports, Toni Kroos is in no mood for one more World Cup and is looking to focus completely on club football. In 2019, Kroos and Real Madrid reached an agreement and a new contract was signed which runs through 2023.
Toni Kroos’s decision to retire early from International duties like Philipp Lahm, might give him extra push to keep his body performing at the highest level. Moreover, Kroos would get a good break during FIFA breaks which will enable him to avoid injuries and fatigue.
Whatever the reason, Toni Kroos’s decision looks perfect in all sense and Euro 2021 will be a perfect platform for Kroos to hand over the torch to another midfielder.
