The 36-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo has been a dominant force in the world of football. He has been at the top of his game for a decade and a half. For the last fifteen years, Ronaldo has been smashing records and smashing a few more records will not be a new task for man on a mission. He led his team to win Euro 2016 championships and will be looking to pocket one more major. Cristiano Ronaldo is coming into the Euros with great form. He was a leading goal scorer in the Serie A this season and won Serie A Golden Boot. Moreover, Portugal is placed in Group F along with France, Germany and Hungary which is considered as Group of Death. So his skills and scoring are necessary for Portugal to advance into knockout rounds. So what records can Ronaldo break at Euro 2020?
#1 Most Euro Finals Campaign
Ronaldo made his Euro debut back in 2004. Since then, he has been part of the Portugal squad for every Euro. At the moment, he has 4 Euro appearances. This feat has been achieved by seventeen other footballers at Euro. But none have appeared for the fifth Euro. On 15th June, when Portugal will play Hungary, Ronaldo will set a record for most Euro finals campaigns. Ronaldo will become the first player to have appeared in five different Euro editions.

#2 Most number of Goals at Euro
Goal scoring is not new for Ronaldo. He has been scoring goals across the globe for the last fifteen years. But a goal at Euro 2020 will place him above all in the record books. Currently, Cristiano Ronaldo is tied with Michael Platini for the most number of goals at Euro. An interesting fact is Platini’s nine goals came in a single edition of 1984. If Ronaldo finds the back of the net even once, he will be right at the top with the highest goal-getter in the history of the Euro.

#3 Most Appearances at Euro Including Euro Qualifiers
Suppose Ronaldo plays all three group stage matches for Portugal, on 23rd June when Portugal plays France, Ronaldo will become the most experienced player in the history of the Euro. Currently, the record is held by legendary former Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. Buffon has appeared for Italy 58 times while Ronaldo has been part of Portugal at Euros for 56 matches. Ronaldo needs to make three appearances in order to dethrone Buffon. Ronaldo has an impressive record in these 56 matches. Portugal has won 36 matches while 12 have ended in a draw. Whereas in the remaining eight matches, Portugal has suffered defeat.
#4 Ronaldo Can become Oldest Player to Score in Euro Finals if Portugal reaches the finals of Euro 2020
Do you know who is the oldest player to have scored at the finals of the Euro championship? The record belongs to West Germany’s Bernd Hölzenbein who scored in the 1976 edition.
Portugal has been a dominant force for the last few years. The team has won two major trophies – Euro 2016 and UEFA Nations League. So according to us, Portugal is one of the serious contenders at Euro 2021. If Portugal reaches the finals of Euro 2021 and if Ronaldo finds the net, at age of 36 years and 156 days, Ronaldo will become the oldest player to score at the Euro finals.
#1 Most Number of International Goals
Everyone remembers the iconic Euro 2016 final moment. Ronaldo was injured and guided his team from the sidelines to victory. 2021 Euro, supposed to be the final Euro for Ronaldo, we can expect more energy and hunger from Ronaldo. To date, Ronaldo has scored 103 international goals and the only player to have more goals than CR7 is Iran’s Ali Daei. Ali has scored 109 goals which is also a record of the most number of international goals.
If Ronaldo manages to score more than seven goals, the record books will be replaced by his name. We all know Ronaldo has scored nine goals in four Euro editions and scoring seven goals a single edition is not easy. But these are just things Ronaldo can do.
Among active players, Ali Makhbout of UAE is closest to Ronaldo with 73 goals. He is followed by Lionel Messi and Sunil Chhetri with 72 goals each.
